The joint South African Tourism and Tourism Update webinar – which had to be cancelled today (Wednesday) due to unforeseen technical difficulties – will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
SA Tourism CEO, Sisa Ntshona, contacted TU to say that he had been unexpectedly called to attend an important meeting with the Minister of Tourism, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, about the country’s COVID-19 response.
“I felt that, even though I could not be there, it was important to share updates with the trade and therefore did not want to postpone the webinar,” he said.
The rescheduled webinar will still focus on how the inbound industry can positively stimulate tourism GDP, as COVID-19 continues to spread globally, with some reported cases in South Africa.
“It is imperative that the tourism industry unites to develop solutions to ensure the sector continues to be an important contributor to South Africa’s GDP,” said Ntshona.
A date for the rescheduled webinar will be announced as soon as possible.
EDITOR’S NOTE:
We apologise unreservedly to all those who signed up for webinar and the inconvenience caused by this. We do have a back-up generator and we followed due diligence in terms of sound checks – up to five minutes before we went live – and everything was working smoothly
The IT technicians are looking into ways to prevent an unexpected technical glitch like this in future.
