Poll results: Intra-provincial leisure not the easy answer

Last week we asked what the reopening of intra-provincial travel meant to accommodation establishments (including game lodges) in South Africa.

Results showed that 27% of respondents were waiting for inter-provincial travel to open before they reopened. See the full results below.

Note – inter-provincial travel will be allowed from midnight tonight (Monday, August 17).

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Saturday (August 15) that, from midnight on Monday (August 17), all restrictions on inter-provincial leisure travel would be lifted.

This week’s poll question is:

Is the recent announcement of inter-provincial travel going to help the sustainability of your business?

  • Yes, it will go a long way.
  • Maybe, but it won’t be very profitable.
  • No, unfortunately we need international travellers to make a real difference.
